Gatorade®

During these hot summer days, it is important to drink lots of fluid.  One physician has recommended that during hot months or during any period of physical exertion, a person should drink a cup of Gatorade® or like drink for every 4 cups of water in order to help keep the body's electrolytes in balance. If the body is hot, it is best not to drink ice cold liquids.  The source of the following recipe for homemade gatorade-type drink is not know:

1 pack unsweetened Kool Aid (any flavor)

2 quarts water

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teas. salt

1/2 cup orange juice

Mix together.
